From Turnelsattel the ridge to the summit is often snow-blown.
The ascent from Lauenen is at high risk of avalanches / slabs of snow depending on the year, since the farmers sometimes only mow the grass every three years. Consequence: The snow from entire slopes slides off pretty quickly. However, one is quite flexible in the ascent. Departure to Scheidbach (NW) for a very long time, pretty sure of snow.

The Lauenenhorn is a secluded summit overlooking Lauenen and Gstaad – perfect for those who want to venture off the beaten track. The view from the summit is magnificent: Wildhorn, Giferspitz, Arpelistock, Geltenhorn, and far into the Valais and Bernese Oberland 🌄👀.

Ascent options:
🔹 Alpine trail from the Wasserngrat via Wändliflueh (T2–T3, challenging)
🔹 Direct ascent from Lauenen (via Lengweid) possible, but steep!

Characteristics:
🔸 Barely marked trails – some without paths
🔸 Surefootedness, good fitness, and orientation required
🔸 Very quiet – with a bit of luck, you'll be alone at the summit!
