In the autumn of 2006, the canoe park Markkleeberg opened on the Auenhainer shores of the Markkleeberg lake, the new adventure spot for water sports enthusiasts. Germany's Kanuelite already trains here, since April 2007 recreational canoes have been trying out daredevil and artistic maneuvers. Exciting national and international competitions, as well as spectacular fun sport events inspire the spectators.

The canoe park with its two whitewater trails is located on the Auenhainer shores of the Markkleeberger lake. The Auenhainer beach is with a length of about 500 m, the largest beach on the lake.
