The mill was built in the 16th century, probably around 1590. It is one of the original 26 water mills on the Elz. Even today, the water wheel is used to generate electricity. The water-powered wheat mill was until 1979 owned by the Bantes family. The last owners, Josef and Maria Bantes, have been grinding grain for the surrounding villages until the 50s of the last century. Since 1979, the old watermill is owned by the Scheuven family.
The Low Mill is located in the middle of the large wine growing areas of the Rhine and Moselle, about 2 kilometers from the village of Gering, which also gave the mill its name.
The Mining Mill is ideal for smaller events such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries or company parties. It can be hosted by an external service up to 150 people.

In addition, the mill offers extended families an ideal place of rest, experience and relaxation in untouched nature.
