      𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗲 𝗣𝗳𝗮𝗹𝘇

      An extraordinary view of the Palatinate, especially the Donnersberg, at 687m the highest mountain massif in the Palatinate. This occupies an area of approx. 2400ha, has a diameter of around 7km and towers over its immediate surroundings by around 300m. The western part of the Donnersberg massif is characterized by many individual mountains which are separated by deeply incised valleys. In contrast, the north-eastern main floor is occupied by an approximately 300ha large plateau with only a slight incline, from which steep slopes lead down to the valley. Today it is mostly forested with deciduous trees. In addition to wild boar, deer and rabbits, there are also European mouflons (a type of sheep) to be found. Source: text information board
