In the town of Idar-Oberstein, Kammerwoog is a part of the Nahe with its banks, downstream from the barrage of the same name to just before the inner-city development of the river.

Woog is actually the name for a standing body of water; the Nahe flowed slowly here after a river bend. The circumstances changed in this regard after the construction of the barrage.

This dam on the Nahe is embedded in a wonderful landscape. The Nahe meanders through the mountains and rocks in large and sometimes narrow loops.
