Between Jederitz and Kuhlhausen, a perfectly straight concrete paved path stretches through the flat landscape like a ruler through a school notebook. Wheat on the left, corn on the right, in between nothing but sky, horizon, and a bike path that sounds like a GDR summer vacation. Every footstep is a slight hammering, every bump in the paving stones a reminder of the time when roads weren't paved, but segmented.

And yet, a strange calm hangs over this path. No cars, no shops, no noise – just wind, fields, and the faint doubt as to whether you're riding straight through or into them. Into heaven, for example. Or into another time.

Ideal for anyone who sees cycling as meditation. Or as an escape. Or simply as a way from A to B, where you forget what A and B were all about. Once you've embraced the rhythm of the ground, you almost don't want to get off.

The path ends as good paths should: not spectacularly, but suddenly. And with the feeling that you will come back here again – even though you don’t know why.
