The Petersberger Bittweg is the last of the original four processional paths that led to the pilgrimage chapel on Petersberg in the Siebengebirge. It consists of twelve, originally 14 stations in the form of processional altars and crosses from the 17th and 18th centuries. In the Siebengebirge three steles will describe the life and work of Beethoven in the Heisterbach monastery, on the Petersberg and on the Drachenfels plateau.
So that these steles do not stand alone in these certainly striking places for Beethoven, they were connected with a hiking trail.
