The nature reserve east of Süderlügum is a hidden paradise. With 41.5 hectares, it is one of the largest inland dune landscapes in Schleswig-Holstein. The sand drifts extend to the adjacent forest and the village. Small footpaths lead through the area, they are not passable by bike. We were there at the time of the heather bloom and had a wonderful light on this late afternoon in September.
