Mofetas no Vulcão Laacher See

A detour to the shore along Lake Laach is worthwhile. Here, you'll find magnificent views of and over the lake. In some places, CO2 gas is clearly visible rising from the depths, forming countless bubbles known as mofettes. A special highlight of active volcanism – extraordinary and very impressive.
A detour to the Lydia Tower will reward you with a truly breathtaking view of the Laacher See volcano.
On the southwest shore of Lake Laach lies the high medieval Maria Laach monastery complex. It is one of the most famous sights in the Laacher See Volcano Park. The abbey church is one of the most outstanding examples of German Romanesque church architecture. With the monastery's own garden center, workshops, bookstore, and a shop for traditional handicrafts, it's also a great starting point for a hike around Lake Laach.
So, hiking enthusiasts, put on some light hiking shoes and head out into the wonderful nature of the Volcanic Eifel.
