The Pfreimdtal is not only one of the most beautiful river valleys in the Upper Palatinate Forest. As a natural untouched area, it offers important habitats for various animal and insect species such as dragonflies, frogs and beavers. As a so-called FFH area (area of the Fauna-Flora-Habitat Directive) it belongs to the Natura 2000. Here at the Kainzmühlsperre you cycle on a particularly idyllic section.

The Pfreimd Valley Cycle Path from Pfreimd is very easy to drive and very scenic. From the Kainzmühle to Böhmischbruck the path is only gravel, partly in the forest, partly also quite washed out.
