The ruins of the royal castle are a first class destination. High above Königshütte you have a brilliant view of the Hochharz. The relatively small castle ruins also house the stamp office 41 of the Harzer hiking nobility. It is also part of the Harzer-Hexen-Stieg.

The ruins of the Königsburg are on the way to the Harzer Hexenstieg. From here you have a magnificent view of the valley. The ruin itself is quite small. The ascent is narrow and relatively steep. Nothing for prams.
