    The Garching Heath is one of the oldest nature reserves in Germany and has been intensively researched in terms of vegetation since the middle of the 19th century and accompanied in its development: a real treasure trove of natural and cultural history.

        The Garching Heath is a small natural area without trees and bushes. If you hike along the specified paths through this protected area or just go for a walk, you have the feeling that you are in an African steppe. The Garching Heath is surrounded by the Echinger Lohe and the Mallertshofen wood. The area can also be explored by bike.
