      Welcome to the cache nature trail Genshagen # 1!
      The former estate village of Genshagen is around 700 years old.
      The village center is characterized by the castle, the original mansion of Baron von Eberstein, which was rebuilt in 1880 and is now used as a conference and education center by the state government.
      The 7.5 hectare, very beautiful park has been designed according to old plans since 1993 and offers botanical treasures.
      Opposite the castle, the church with the adjoining churchyard.
      The former district administrator of the district of Teltow, Ernst von Stubenrauch (1853-1909), found his final resting place here.
      His life's work, the construction of the Teltow Canal, was the cornerstone for the industrialization of southern Berlin.
      However, the visitor only finds the local tranquility when he turns from the busy area of the village road - B 101 - to the well-signposted hiking trails and enjoys the beautiful nature in every season.
      As everywhere in our region, mixed and coniferous forests await him, in summer and autumn an Eldorado for mushroom pickers, wide meadows and fields.
      Hiking trails lead to barbecue and rest areas, there are shelters in some places and seating areas.
      Visitors to Berlin do not even have to use their cars; bus line 710 Marienfelde – Ludwigsfelde goes via Genshagen.
