    Neckar Dam/Lock Weir-Feudenheim 🚴‍♂️

    The Feudenheim Lock is located in the Neckar Canal near the Mannheim district of Feudenheim. Approximately 6,000 ships pass through the lock each year on their way to Stuttgart and back. The structure is considered the "gateway to the Neckar" for ships coming from the Rhine. In addition to the old double lock from 1927, the Feudenheim Lock, where the water transitions from the free-flowing Rhine to the dammed Neckar, has an additional 190-meter-long third lock chamber, built in 1973 and operated in parallel. Instead of the lifting gates, which are in need of renovation, stem gates including new drives will soon be installed. These lifting towers are listed as historical monuments due to their striking impact on the surrounding area and must be preserved accordingly.
