The history of the churchyard, village, and settlement of Voynova Gora in the Orekhovo-Zuyevsky urban district goes back several centuries. According to one version, set forth by local historian V.S. Lizunov, this name was given by the warriors of the time of Ivan the Terrible. Having made a stop on a beautiful hillock on the bank of the Klyazma and enchanted by the beauty of the local nature, they began to call this place Voynova Gora. The history of the Assumption Church of Voynova Gora and its parish is in a certain way connected with the Morozov manufacturers and the Krasovsky priests and school teachers of the parish. The first mention of the village dates back to 1628. Previously, there was a monastery in this area, belonging to the Trinity-Sergius Monastery. In 1678, a wooden church was built. In 1723, a new, also wooden, church was built in its place. Over time, the Assumption wooden church fell into disrepair. In 1835–1837. a new stone church was being built, the church was built from local bricks, presumably from the Morozov factory, located not far from the church. The bricks did not have a stamp, like those of the Kondakov factory, for example, and were transported by horse-drawn carts and barges along the Klyazma River. In 1871, the old wooden church was bought for 300 rubles by the Pavlovsky Posad merchant Yakov Ivanovich Labzin and transported to the village of Zuyevo.
