Pinkafeld, a beautiful town in the Oberwart district of Burgenland, currently has a population of 5,890 (as of January 1, 2025). The town is idyllically situated on the Pinka River, which also bears Pinkafeld's name. With a history dating back to the Neolithic period, Pinkafeld was an important artisan town in the Middle Ages, where important privileges such as market and toll rights were obtained.

In the 18th century, the economy flourished, primarily thanks to the cloth makers and leather workers who shaped the town's activities. Today, the HTL Pinkafeld, the largest vocational school in Burgenland, is a central part of the educational landscape. Politically, Pinkafeld is under the leadership of Mayor Kurt Maczek and Vice Mayor Adrian Kubat of the SPÖ.
