This church, which essentially dates back to the year 1200, stands a little off the main street in Obersöchering and is therefore of Romanesque origin. What is striking about this church building is that the two main building periods can be clearly seen here. While the tower most likely dates from the early days of the church, which is very clearly evident from the shape and construction, and is therefore of Romanesque origin, the nave of the church is very different. It dates from around 1400, and is therefore of Gothic origin. In 1768 it was enlarged and remodeled in the Baroque style. The wall around the church, made of tuff blocks, probably dates from the 17th century and can be found in this form in several churches in the area. Overall, it is a very interesting church in terms of architecture.
