The Puparsch beer fountain is a small highlight of the Hanseatic city that is really worth seeing and is of great importance.

Left in front of the entrance to the Burggarten, it catches your eye.

The sentence "Everyone is made aware that no one shits in the Jeetze, because the brewing will start tomorrow!" is on a wooden plaque next to the fountain. A call to the citizens to keep the Jeetze clean, as their untreated water was then used to brew beer.
