The Alster is a 56 kilometer long tributary of the Elbe and flows through southern Holstein and Hamburg. Outer Alster
The Outer Alster, which is approx. 164 hectares in size and up to 4.5 meters deep, is the larger, northern part of the Alster Lake. It is fed by the Alster in the north and the Osterbek and Wandse in the east. It flows into the Inner Alster in the south.
