The rest area on its northern bank is overgrown and has seen better days. A little further east there is a small open space that invites you to rest. The lake is also nestled between hills like its little brother, the "KLeine Lindsee". Nevertheless, there are always small natural descents that lead to the water.

The Großer Lindsee seems to change color from beer bottle green to ocher depending on the weather or mood. A narrow path leads all around. The stairs at the end of the lake that lead up to the hiking trail are quite overgrown. But you can still get up. Not far from the path, a bench offers a view of the lake, which cannot be said about the official viewing point.
