On a dangling bench you can not only let your soul dangle, but also your feet! 🥾💭 With the best panoramic view over the Dreiborn plateau, the development of nature into second-hand wilderness can be observed from a special perspective.

On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the Eifel National Park received a special birthday present in autumn 2024 🎂: The group of national park hosts donated the "XXL dangling bench". It is an oversized seat for visitors to the protected area. The project was financed by the offer group, and the impressive bench was built and installed by the national park's wood construction workshop.

🌳 In the Eifel National Park, nature is allowed to develop into a second-hand wilderness according to its own laws. Rare animal and plant species find a place to retreat here. The alternation of dense forests, deep stream valleys and open grassland creates diverse habitats. With a little luck, you can see and hear not only the most prominent resident, the red deer, but also lapwings, skylarks, red-backed shrikes and meadow pipits chirping on the Dreibonn plateau. 🐦‍⬛ To ensure that these species feel comfortable, it is important that you follow a few rules of conduct. Always stay on the designated paths, do not fly drones, keep dogs on a leash and do not make fires, make noise or throw rubbish.

Note: It is usually windy on the Dreibonn plateau and there are no shelters. Remember to wear suitable clothing and a hat appropriate for the season. 🌦️☀️🌬️
