The church of Neukirchen - namesake of the community of Neukirchen.
The first mention of Neukirchen was made around 1200 in the interest register of the Chemnitz monastery. Before that, the Würschnitz lowlands were developed on the initiative of the monks of the monastery and Franconian farmers settled in the region.
