Prädikow was built in the 13th century on an old army and trade route - leading from Köpenick to Wriezen "via vetus". The now rather insignificant but picturesque village has a church that stands out clearly from the village churches in its surroundings due to its basic layout. Built from 1255 to 1270 from fieldstone, the basilica with its elongated, closed choir and the west tower resembles more the city churches of Altlandsberg and Strausberg than the other local Saalkirchen. A possible reason for this could be that the two villages Ober- and Niederprädikow together had a property of over 100 hooves, which corresponds to the country equipment of a city of founding time.
