What makes the “Sky Disk of Nebra” so valuable? It is the world's oldest known and concrete representation of the cosmos and a unique testimony to human history. The disk was made around 1,800 BC and was entered into the UNESCO documentary heritage “Memory of the World” in 2013.

We found the story of its discovery in 1999 interesting and exciting at home, a pure archaeological thriller! The priceless disk is now safely in the treasure chamber of the State Museum of Prehistory in Halle (Saale).

Here in the visitor center in Nebra, just about 3 km from the site where it was found, we are embarking on an exciting journey back to 3,600 years ago.

It's wonderful how the golden building stands out in the landscape, with the site right in front of you. The exhibition and the lively multimedia presentation in the planetarium are well worth it!
