Evangelical Reformed Church, Thalwil
On May 19, 1943, the church burned down to its foundations due to construction work in the tower, an event that is still talked about in Thalwil today. It was decided to start the reconstruction on the same floor plan, although the church space was slightly expanded towards Plattenplatz.
On April 14, 1946, the rebuilt church was consecrated. It had a new tower roof with a crown (Charles' crown?) instead of the old Grossmünster-like roof. There was also a new large organ from the Kuhn/Männedorf company, as well as church windows by the Zurich glass painter Max Hunziker (the first by the artist, who would have turned 100 in 2001; his last can be seen in Meilen).
The five bells made by Rüetschi weigh over 14 tons, are named "Faith", "Love", "Hope", "Justice˚ and "Peace" and are tuned to G sharp, B sharp, C sharp, D sharp, F sharp. The baptismal font by the Munich sculptor Hautmann, which was courageously rescued from the burning church, still comes from the old church from 1845. (Other remains of the old church can be viewed in the local museum.)

The Reformed Church on Plattenplatz is visible from afar. It is one of the most important religious buildings of classicism in Switzerland and is a listed building.
Concerts are held regularly in the Reformed Church and the community uses it for community meetings, especially at the beginning of December for the budget community meeting (information partly from Thalwiler Neujahrsblatt 2016).
