Sion Monastery. From the former south-west of Mauchenheim, north of the Selz and near the forest of Vorholz, the Cistercian monastery of Sion, St. Maria, is today only a reconstructed wall of the former outbuildings above the corridor “in the Sion garden”. A bronze plaque commemorates the history of the monastery, and the “Sioner Klosterberg” vineyard location also keeps the memory of the former monastery alive.
