The shelter building is located below the peak of Wielki Stożek (978 m above sea level), right next to the ridge of the Czantoria and Stożek ranges, which is also the Polish-Czech border. The mentioned range is the westernmost part of the Polish Beskid Śląski, and its end is the Tuł massif.

It is the oldest Polish shelter in the Silesian Beskids, the construction of which was decided by the Management Board of the PTT Branch in Cieszyn in 1919. Construction began in May 1920 according to the design of Stanisław Chorubski, who used both local and Podhale architectural elements.

The ceremonial opening of the shelter took place on July 9, 1922. Modernized many times, it was thoroughly renovated in the 1960s and since then its shape and appearance have practically not changed. The wonderful views from the shelter towards the east have not changed either. This location makes our shelter one of the most beautifully situated accommodation options in Wisła, appreciated by all lovers of mountain hiking.
