    The houses of the Bäckergang are located on what was once a swampy Trave valley. It is located next to the entrance to the house of Engelsgrube No. 41. Divided in 1572 and reunited in 1596 by Jost Capelen. The corridor was called "Capellen Gang" until the 17th century and in 1956 was a corridor with twelve habitable houses. Since six of them were at risk of collapse, these houses were renovated in 1983-86.
