    Historical town hall in Wangen im Allgäu
    The representative building in Wangen's city center is the historical town hall, whose origins date back to the High Middle Ages.
    History of the town hall of Wangen im Allgäu
    The baroque building was built before the 15th century and parts of it are still preserved. It was once part of the city wall that was built on the site in the 13th century. Later, the city center was expanded and the wall moved. Parts of the city wall can still be seen in Wangen.
    The building was redesigned several times in the 15th century and was enlarged so that the building took up more space on today's market square. Romanesque structures were mixed with Gothic elements, to which baroque features were added from 1721 onwards. This applies above all to the curved facade with the embellishments, as can still be clearly seen today. On the other hand, the Gothic style was preserved, although it has also undergone some renovation changes over the years. The paintings have been restored.
