The revitalized Blumenthal offers a mix of charming single-family homes, 19th-century apartment buildings and industrial buildings on the banks of the Weser. There's a restaurant in a former boathouse with water views, as well as German restaurants and bars on Lüssumer Straße. The district has several small parks and is home to the open-to-visit Bunker Valentin memorial, a huge, overgrown Nazi-era bunker with a submarine dockyard.

The market square isn't that great, but on the corner is the Sicilian restaurant "Terra Dell'Etna". It's not a big place, but the food is really delicious and very inexpensive!
