Boswachterij Leersumse Plassen🌳🦆, located on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, is an enchanting nature reserve that stimulates the senses and welcomes hikers with a harmonious mix of forests and water features. With its tranquil greenery, rustling leaves and calm pools, it is an oasis of rust and biodiversity. Hiking trails meander through the landscape, along reflective waters and under majestic tree crowns. Bird lovers can delight in the various water birds that call the lakes their home. In short, Boswachterij Leersumse Plassen offers an idyllic setting for hikers looking for natural splendor and serenity.

The Utrechtse Heuvelrug, in which Boswachterij Leersumse Plassen is located, had its origins during the penultimate ice age, the Saalien. During this period, a huge mass of ice from Scandinavia pushed sand, gravel and stones in front of it. This causes the formation of moraines, including the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. After the ice retreated, the earth's layers folded, which is part of the long ridge as we know it today. The area is mixed by a varied landscape with forests, heathlands, sand drifts and beautiful nature reserves such as Boswachterij Leersumse Plassen.
