It is historically significant, the Hachenburger Straße in Steinebach: Through them, the American troops moved at the end of the Second World War, a hundred and fifty years earlier, in the Revolutionary Wars, including the French army. And in the Middle Ages, the knight of Steinebach is said to have set out for the crusade. His castle stands just behind a row of houses on Hachenburger Straße. There is not much left of it, the Steinebacher have long used their Niederungsburg as a quarry.
