    The new building of the Malbun hotel and restaurant on Buchserberg was opened in 2013 when the previous building could no longer be saved. Weather permitting, the restaurant is open every day all year round.

        1934: Construction of the Malbun ski house by the Hans Roth company on behalf of the Buchs ski club. Costs including inventory: CHF 25,000, festive inauguration on October 28, 1934
        1947: Purchase of the ski house by the local group of the Swiss Tourist Association “Die Naturfreunde”
        1963: Acquisition of the ski house by the local community of Buchs for the price of CHF 105,000 including furniture, name change to "Berghaus Malbun"
        1970: Credit approval of CHF 370,000 by the citizens' assembly for the expansion to the west and the terrace to the south
        1992: Report and application for the renovation of the kitchen and terrace
        2011: Local citizens approved a construction loan for the new building worth CHF 3.8 million
