Chapel of St. Sebastian in Großtissen
The chapel was built in 485 by the civil community of Großtissen. This led to differences: the priest of Moosheim as well as the magistrate in Saulgau, as the holder of the right of patronage, demanded “that their newly built chapel should not result in any disadvantages to the rights of the pastor as well as Ammann, the mayor and the council of Saulgau”. (It was about benefice income.) The chapel, built in the 15th century, was changed in the 18th and 19th centuries. However, the original late Gothic style is still clearly recognizable in the pointed arch shape of the side windows and the sandstone-framed round window on the west gable - despite the Baroque style glazing.
Two figures remain from the time the chapel was built: one of St. Sebastian, the chapel's patron, and one of St. Roch (both last quarter of the 15th century.)
