Jedlnia and its surroundings, including the area of the Kozienice Forest, is a special place on the map of the January Uprising. It was here that the insurgents attacked a Russian company of sappers on the night that began the uprising. On the night of January 22-23, 1863, the conspirators from Jedlnia, as the only ones creating such a strong rural underground organization with about 100 participants, attacked the Russian troops - the action was successful. The conspirators from Jedlnia were led by: Narcyz Figietti, Józef Wolski, Florian Silnicki and others, including the parish priest of Jedlnia, Józef Gacki.

Forests of the Forest were also the arena of other insurgent fights, e.g. the Battle of Jasce on April 20, 1863, the area of operations of the insurgent parties of Czachowski and Langiewicz. In the spring of 1864, on the branches of three now non-existent oaks, the last 17 January insurgents were hanged, surrounded by the Russians as a result of treason, captured after a long fight. The grave of the insurgents is located in the cemetery in Jedlnia.

"Three Oaks" are located on the provincial road Radom-Kozienice.
