The New Marstall was built between 1896 and 1901 in the neo-baroque style. It housed about 300 horses in a double-story stable as well as royal carriages and sleighs. After damage in the Second World War, the building was restored in a simplified manner.

The New Stables consist of a four-storey wing on the Schloßplatz, a five-storey wing on the Spree, a four-storey wing on Breite Straße and two wings with different floors in the courtyards. The four-storey Schloßplatz wing is 83 metres long and 23 metres high. The base and mezzanine floors are rusticated, the upper floors are divided by pilasters. The central projection of the palace square façade is divided by double columns across all floors and was crowned by a tympanum with the Prussian coat of arms. The side projections are only divided by double columns on the upper floors, while a Prometheus and a Perseus fountain were located in the base zones. A total of six horse and warrior sculptures formed the end of the façade on the square side.

The five-storey Spree wing is 176 meters long and 31 meters high. The rustication and pilasters continue on the façade. In the central projection of the Spree façade, there is a portal with a pediment on the base floor. A relief depicting Oceanus is embedded in the tympanum. The side projections were also crowned by tympanums containing royal monograms. A total of eight horse and warrior sculptures formed the end of the upper façade on the Spree side.
