The fort of the semi-permanent Belbek group is located 750 m from the coastal battery N 26 (in pre-revolutionary numbering, better known as N 30) at a neighboring height, connected by an embankment to the battery. According to the original design, the fort and the battery were supposed to be separate structures that perform different tasks. The fort was a circular fortification around the top of the hill in the form of a moat. The ditch was dug in clayey soil down to the rocky base. Two entrances were provided in the Gorge part of the moat. Ramps and shelters for field guns were not found. Perhaps they were destroyed during the defense of Sevastopol. Found two semi-underground barracks, project 1908 (heavily destroyed). An interesting feature of the fort are shelters for shooters in the form of concrete niches, up to 1 m deep. Niches are located every 50m. Most likely, this decision was made due to the fact that the soil here is not rocky, but clayey. The steps to the shooting banquet of the shaft were made of concrete. In Soviet times, the height on which the fort was erected was used for the construction of the command post BBN 30. The structures of the semi-durable fort were used as an antiamphibious defense of the command post. In front of the shaft line of 10-15 m, machine-gun pillboxes were erected, in front of which there was a wire fence in 3 rows. The main array of the battery was connected by an underground loss to the command post, creating a single complex of structures. Currently, the fort is partially accessible for inspection, but the main roads to it are blocked by military units. The most convenient route to it goes from the chapel near 30 BB, past the battery itself, along the fence and further along the clearly readable line of the underground terrace (on which the railway path to the battery towers once passed) to the top of the neighboring height. The path just crosses the line of the fortification moat.
The description of the fighting in the area of Fort "Belbek" is inextricably linked with the defense of the 30th BB and is given in the chapter on the defense of the "thirty". The safety of the fort's structures is mediocre. The niches and steps were partially destroyed during the shelling of the battery during the defense of 1941-42. The military barracks were almost completely destroyed. The ditch and rampart were overgrown with bushes. In the area of the fort, the remains of three prefabricated reinforced concrete pillboxes from the time of defense were found.
