      Day 1. Ireland Trip.
Wexford & Kilkenny Four Marilyns - Forth Mountain 237m, Carrickbyrne Hill 234m, Tory Hill 292m, and Carricktriss Gorse 314m.

On many of the peak bagging/outdoor websites I perused for this trip I noted there were very few route descriptions regarding ascents of the lesser known Irish Marilyns. This also applied to the availability of gpx files. I will therefore add relevant information and files that hopefully will provide assistance to future hikers/peakbaggers.

Carrickbyrne Hill 234m, Wexford (Trig Point & Marilyn).
Carrickbyrne Hill is a prominent hill in County Wexford beside the N25 half way between New Ross and Wexford.
Parking is at the start point and there is not much of it. It is basically a wide junction where I parked near some picnic benches. I was surprised there was no car park for a popular walk.
From here the trail is obvious up through the entrance to the woods and bear off to the left and uphill on a good wide track. Turn right at the junction and you are on another good wide track for about twenty minutes or so until you see a rough but distinctive single track off to the left.
You follow this track uphill (North). It is not a good trail, low branches, ducking under and climbing over some downed branches and such like. Not that bad though and it will eventually bring you out onto the trig pointed summit. The views were okay but nothing special.
Now I decided to try another route down as the path looked better and better it was by a considerable margin. If I was doing this again I would take my down route as a straight up and back route. Job done though.

Parking: Basic and limited parking at the start point. Nothing officially marked.
Route: Good wide forest tracks, single track path that was rough on the 500m section up to the trig point. Nothing by way of views but a pleasant walk.
Statistics: 4km with 187m of ascent done in an hour flat.
Maps: Outdoor Active digital Harveys/Irish Topo.
