The bridge is the former "Ahnsbeck lock" (1882-1951)! Whole flocks of sheep were driven here (until 1954) and washed. Older residents still know this place as "sheep wash"! The Ahnsbeck lock is also called the Hohner lock by the helm fighters. At that time, the lock was used to extract water and even drinking water.
The bridge is in the NSG Müsse and the river or stream is the Wiehe. The water is wonderfully clear for a torrent! The Wiehe later flows into the black water.
In dry summers, the riverbed unfortunately remains empty😖
Crossing the bridge requires dismounting from the bike (except MTB's🚵) - in dry conditions you can also go through the riverbed😎
