The twelve Grindel high-rise buildings were erected between 1946 and 1956 on the site of the war-ravaged Jewish Grindel quarter in the Hamburg-Harvestehude district and are nestled within the Grindelberg park.

The area between the high-rises is reserved exclusively for the park, which includes two children's playgrounds.

When the Grindel high-rises were listed as historical monuments in 1979, this protection encompassed not only the twelve high-rises, the laundry, and the gas station, but also the surrounding green space. The park covers an area of 10 hectares.

The Grindelhochhäuser are a listed ensemble of twelve high-rise buildings that were built in the Eimsbüttel district of Hamburg after the Second World War.
