Centro de Morcegos Noctalis Bad Segeberg

The cave is fantastic - not least because you have to drive a long way to get to other caves. It is completely closed in the winter half-year because that is when the bats hibernate and in the summer half-year it is only accessible with a guide. But that doesn't detract from the interest at all - a visit to this cave is really a real highlight.

I had already been in the cave three times at longer intervals - it was a long time ago, but I didn't forget it because it was worth seeing and impressive.
At the cave keeper's house, which was built when the open-air theater was expanded in 1937, you can buy tickets for an interesting guided tour through the approximately 400 m accessible Kalkberg cave, which was discovered in 1913. On the display walls you can not only learn about the history of the mountain with the Siegesburg, which was destroyed in 1644, but also about the emergence of the open-air theatre, the Karl May plays and the animal inhabitants of the caves.

It is difficult to see bats in person, let alone observe them. Thankfully, there are supervised bat caves like the Noctalis here, where you can learn a lot about the really cute and cute animals and their lives and also watch them live.
