For many years a favorite walking and cycling spot for people from all over the region with clearly laid out paths and nowadays some extra facilities such as a beach. Perfect location for cyclists with many connections to other routes. It can be quite busy, especially in good weather, and highway noise can - in some places and days (wind, etc.) be prominent. Tip: there are still places where you can enter the domain, especially if you don't want to see the central part where Bicycle Café Surplas and the small beach and the dog play zone connect. For example, you can go via the Donckstraat (side street of Tessenderloseweg) and there is a path for cyclists (turn left via the indicated road through the golf course before you reach the central part). If you then want to walk around the water or even sit quietly somewhere by the lake, there is an entrance (and limited parking) that is also used by fishermen. You will find it on the South-Eastern side of the domain, just before you cross the bridge of the highway. Please check the terms and conditions as they may change from time to time. But for pedestrians and cyclists no problem at all.
