A very interesting place. I just wonder if they were really graves. As far as I know, hardly any human remains have been found in the so-called "megalithic tombs" so far. But I think that's what makes it all the more fascinating and interesting: we don't know for sure how and why these megalithic structures were built. The place is also a great place to take a break during a bike ride; there are a few benches on the grounds, and there are also benches and a trash can in the replica of the Neolithic sheepfold, where you can take a break even in "bad" weather (like rain), and you're quite well protected from the wind and rain (only the entrances on both sides of the sheepfold are open and can't be closed).

The megalithic tombs near Altenmedingen (also known as the Royal Tombs) are a group of three preserved megalithic burial sites from the Neolithic Funnel Beaker culture. The sites were first recorded in the 1840s.
