The Satyawati Temple सत्यावती मन्दिर is located on a middle mountain in the Tinau Khola Valley at an elevation of 1,400 m. The temple and the lake close by are a destination for pilgrims but are also popular among tourists. The trail starts at the Siddhartha Highway about 30 km south of Tansen.
The local people observe a one-night annual festival at full moon in the month of Kartik (October/November). According to the stories, the goddess is bad at hearing and the locals shout their wishes during the night to her. They believe that the one who circles the pond three times shouting their wishes will get their wishes fulfilled. People take baths and sacrifice animals in the pond.
About 300,000 people from Nepal and India, mostly Hindus, visit the temple annually.
