The Selimiye Mosque in Edirne is one of the most important works of Ottoman architecture, designed by the renowned architect Mimar Sinan at the behest of Sultan Selim II. The dome: Sinan's most significant architectural achievement was the enormous central dome, with a diameter of 31.28 meters and a height of 43.28 meters.
