The issues is a piece of land on a plateau between Niederstetten and Wildentierbach.
It had no owner until 1960. The municipalities of Niederstetten, Wermutshausen, Wildentierbach and Oberstetten held the rights to the Huth.
The soil was not suitable for agriculture and the yield was insufficient for meadows.
The ownership structure probably dates back to Celtic times.
From the Celtic Viereckschanze there was a wide aisle (still today) that led to the Hefte.
There have been disputes over the centuries regarding the corridor.
For example, the Wildentierbach wanted to convert part of it to farmland.
The Niederstetten prince Melchior von Rosenberg then burned down the village of Wildentierbach and the church in 1509.

The hallway was early connected by forest to the Heftenwald near Lichtel.
One finds the following names: the booklet, the Häft, the Häften, the booklet forest or the Häftenwald.

This means that this corridor has a historical past of more than 2000 years.

From March to the end of April 1648, the French army camped on the Hefte (pasture area on a plateau).

According to estimates, there were 5,000 infantry, 5,000 horsemen and 5,000 horses. In addition, there were a few 100 supply vehicles with personnel.
With a notebook area of approx. 3 square kilometers, approx. 16 square meters (4x4m) were available per person.
One had learned from the mistakes of May 1645 at Herbsthausen.
The new camp site had only 4 access routes that were easily controlled.
Marshal Turenne and his officers' staff billeted at Markelsheim. Obviously the French loved the Tauber Valley.
Probably the lovely wine, the good food and the Taubertal girls. Already from March to the end of April 1645 they had been billeted in Mergentheim.

After the French left, the Wildentierbach complained that the place had been plundered and the cattle requisitioned.

If you consider that 250g of meat/sausage was required per person per day, then 10 cattle had to be slaughtered per day.
With a storage time of 60 days (March+April) this was about 600 cattle.
This means that not only the cattle in Wildentierbach, but also in many surrounding villages were confiscated.
At the end of April, the army moved to Zusmarshausen (the last major battle of the Thirty Years' War in Germany).
At the same time, the allied Swedish army was camped in the Windsheimer Gau.

The following information is available from Rothenburg sources:

In 1714, 2 French regiments (approx. 7000 men / 3000 horses) camped on the Hefte near Wildentierbach.

In July 1745 a significant Hungarian troop corps camped in Gebsattel and Wildenthierbach (Hefte).
The cantoning costs in Geslau alone made: 2167 fl.
Then (for 4 days) the following had to be delivered: 6984 portions of bread, 11775 portions of oats, 13784 portions of hay.

After a long storage of a large contingent of French troops, the Wildentierbach farmers complained to the authorities that all their cattle had been confiscated and driven away.
