When the brine is trickled from the Maxquelle springing up in the Kurpark, large quantities of minerals are released into the air in the form of microscopically fine droplets, the aerosols, which are absorbed by visitors through their respiratory tract. It was recognized very early on that inhaling this air on the ambulatory and in the immediate vicinity of the salt works can have a soothing effect, especially on respiratory diseases. This effect can still be experienced today on a tour of the salt works.

        Adjacent is the spa garden, a water playground fed by the Isenach, the weekly flea market and a small outdoor fitness park as well as the spa and park clinic.
