Bowfell (902m) is a pyramid-shaped mountain in the Southern Fells area. It’s the sixth-highest mountain in the Lake District. It’s listed in Alfred Wainwright's 'best half dozen' Lake District fells.

Commanding a dominant position at the head of Great Langdale, overlooking Mickleden, Bowfell is one of the Lake District’s giants and rightly so. It can be approached from many directions and all the routes have lots of merit. Probably the most common one is from Three Tarns having come up The Band from Great Langdale but there are better choices.
Bowfell gives stunning views, especially of the Scafells over upper Eskdale.
