Especially the lower part of the route is very scenic, also here is the road narrow and leads through the individual spots of Präg, past typical Black Forest farms. There is ample opportunity to admire the Präger Gletscherkessel, which is indeed quite alpine. Even though the Black Forest glaciers have already melted off at the end of the last ice age, their past activity can still be understood very well on the basis of many large boulders and scree slopes, which are quite characteristic of former glacial moraines. The road then leads largely through forest and rises moderately steep with a maximum of 8-9% to the high head, where you reach the transition to the Wehratal.
