Baroque moated castle which has a long history, built around 1710, almost completely destroyed by fire in 1935. Reconstruction began in the year of the disaster, at great expense and with the help of numerous helpers. In 1963 Franz Anton von Ketteler came into possession of the estate. When major economic difficulties arose, the 8,000-volume library was sold in 1994 and the forest and land holdings in 1995, as was the inventory by Sotheby's. The castle with the outbuildings and the park was acquired by Otto Drosihn in 1998. In the years that followed, extensive restoration and renovation measures were carried out, so that today the castle is one of the most beautiful moated castles in Westphalia.
